Bishonna Jones

Director of Training & Content

Bishonna Jones serves as the Director of Training & Content at Every Mother’s Advocate (ĒMA), where she leads the development and execution of the organization’s national training ecosystem. As the architect behind how staff, affiliates, and advocates are equipped, Bishonna’s work ensures that every training initiative aligns with ĒMA’s mission to prevent family separation and uplift mothers in crisis. With over a decade of experience in family and community engagement spanning education, nonprofit, and small business sectors, Bishonna brings both expertise and heart to her role.

Before joining ĒMA, Bishonna developed an innovative community outreach program that became a best practices model for school districts across Georgia. Her visionary work earned her a spot on the inaugural Georgia Department of Education Family Engagement Leadership Team, an honor that reflects her lifelong dedication to supporting families.

What drew Bishonna to ĒMA was its unwavering commitment to preserving families and centering mothers with dignity. “For over a decade, I’ve worked to equip parents with tools to lead confidently. ĒMA embodies the kind of advocacy that doesn’t just support mothers, it uplifts them with compassion and purpose.”

As the author of two parenting books, Bishonna is passionate about supporting family sustainability through connection, education, and access to meaningful care systems. She’s especially excited about using her role to help remove bias in advocacy by designing training that challenges assumptions and builds empathy-driven, equitable practices. “We have the opportunity to reshape systems and narratives to serve mothers with the dignity and justice they deserve.”

Outside of work, Bishonna finds joy in simple pleasures and soulful moments, dancing to the latest line dances, taking spontaneous road trips, exploring local festivals, and watching educational YouTube videos that feed her curiosity. She’s known for her warmth, creativity, and the fun ability to improvise a rhyme or poem on the spot.
