As we reflect on 2024, this year has been foundational for Every Mother’s Advocate (ĒMA). Over the past few years, we’ve expanded rapidly, forming partnerships with 11 nonprofits across 16 cities in just 18 months. At the start of last year, we sensed God’s invitation to slow down, assess our foundation, and strengthen our infrastructure for real scale.

My goal has always been to balance ambitious vision with sustainable impact—embracing bold ideas while building an enduring organization. As a follower of Jesus, I believe this reflects God’s heart for our work. Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:26 resonate deeply: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

2024 was a year of refining and strengthening our mission. While piloting small programs, our primary focus was on rebuilding program software, evaluating effectiveness, and fostering a stronger internal culture. This work led to the creation of our three-year strategic plan. Thanks to this groundwork, we enter the next season with greater clarity and momentum—for ĒMA, our partners, and the families we serve.

This mission isn’t possible without you—our donors, volunteers, and partners. ĒMA’s impact is not built on one leader but a collective of nonprofits, volunteers, faith communities, and generous supporters who share a commitment to family preservation.

With the right tools, systems, and team in place, we’re ready to expand our impact. Our three core pillars—impact measurement, training, and technology—will drive our growth. By 2027, we aim to establish 20 new programs in key markets, ensuring more families receive the support they need to stay together.

To date, ĒMA has served 8,600 mothers and children, preserving 94% of at-risk families and generating an estimated $38,850 in economic savings per child. These numbers are more than data—they’re a testament to the power of advocacy and community.

Thank you for believing in this mission. The best is yet to come!

Warmly,

Charlee Tchividjian Founder and CEO

ĒMA’s Approach: Upstream Prevention in Action

At ĒMA, we believe that the best way to protect children is to support their mothers before a crisis leads to separation. Too often, families enter the child welfare system not because of abuse, but due to preventable struggles like poverty, housing instability, or lack of support.

Our upstream prevention model works to address these root causes early, ensuring that moms receive the advocacy, resources, and community they need to create a stable home for their children. By stepping in before intervention is necessary, we’re keeping families together, reducing the need for foster care, and breaking generational cycles of crisis—one mother at a time.

Theory of Change

Family preservation is possible when moms have access to these three key pillars.

Vital Support

When Giovanna first came to ĒMA, she was overwhelmed and alone. After surviving domestic violence and battling depression as a single mom to her one-year-old son, she didn’t know where to turn. A friend encouraged her to search online for support—and that search led her to ĒMA.

“Before ĒMA, I was stuck at home and barely holding on,” Giovanna shared. “Now I’m working again, my son is in therapy… my life feels like a miracle.”

Giovanna was immediately connected to vital support—including parenting and employment classes, diapers and essentials from the Community Closet, and personalized advocacy to help her navigate childcare and job readiness. With help from her ĒMA Coordinator, she found daycare and therapy for her son, completed her cosmetology license, and was hired by a salon she loves.

“ĒMA gave me the tools and encouragement I needed. When I go to class, I feel seen, supported, and surrounded by other women who understand,” she said. “Even the small things—like having diapers—made a big difference.”

Today, Giovanna’s son is thriving. She’s financially stable and hopeful about her future. “I’ve learned that there are always possibilities to be better—and I know ĒMA will always be there for me,” she shared through tears. “No one has ever supported me like this. Because of ĒMA, I’m not just surviving—I’m building a life for my family.”

Belonging

After two years and 77+ classes, Lindsay, an ĒMA Advocate, is on a mission to support incarcerated, expectant moms. She helped launch the ĒMA Empowered Parenting program, a 10-week course for pregnant women in Broward County, FL.

Every Wednesday, Lindsay leads a class that quickly became a favorite among inmates. “I love developing relationships with these women,” she shared. “At first, the class is just a break from their reality, but soon they realize it’s life-changing.” With small groups of 3-7 women, the sessions feel like therapy, providing a space for them to be heard—often for the first time.

Lindsay also attends their court hearings. “I tell the judge how they’re enrolled and excelling. This certificate carries so much weight in court, and they don’t even realize how much it helps their case,” she explained. Beyond legal benefits, the women gain parenting skills, connection, and a sense of achievement. “Many don’t get to ‘graduate’ from things, so completing this program is a huge moment for them,” Lindsay said.

One story stands out most. Lindsay met Kelly in jail, where she had struggled with addiction since age 14. “I knew she was ready to change,” Lindsay recalled. After her release, Kelly completed the course, gave birth to a healthy baby, and is building a stable life. Wanting to attend church but fearing sitting alone, Kelly now joins Lindsay every Sunday.

Where We Serve

Serving more moms through strategic partnerships

Expanding the ĒMA Affiliate network isn’t just about reaching more moms—it’s about creating a collaborative, nationwide movement dedicated to family preservation. As more Affiliates join, they bring diverse insights, best practices, and innovative solutions, strengthening the effectiveness of upstream care. This growing network fosters shared learning, system improvements, and stronger community partnerships, ensuring that every mother, no matter where she lives, has access to high-quality advocacy, resources, and support. By working together, we’re not only scaling our impact but also building a unified force that is transforming the way families receive help—before separation ever becomes a possibility.

What’s Next for ĒMA?

Bringing Our Strategic Plan to Life in 3 ways:

Over the past three years, ĒMA embraced an affiliate growth strategy to amplify our impact redemptively, collectively, and measurably.

ĒMA’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan charts a bold course for growth, sustainability, and impact. Every initiative highlighted on this page is a direct result of intentional planning to expand our reach, deepen our support for mothers in crisis, and strengthen our organizational foundation. As we step into the next chapter, we’re guided by a clear vision: to ensure that no mother faces crisis alone—and every child has the chance to thrive in a stable, loving home.

1. Expanding into Mission Critical Markets
We’re building on the foundation laid to expand into 20 new communities by 2027. This year, we’re focusing on building partnerships with values-aligned nonprofits and churches to implement ĒMA’s model in mission critical markets across the country.

2. Investing in Best-in-Class Training & Program Excellence
To ensure every ĒMA site delivers consistent, high-impact care, we’re launching a comprehensive training and content initiative. This includes developing robust onboarding systems, scalable leadership development, updated Advocate curriculum, and immersive learning experiences for Affiliates and Coordinators. When we strengthen our people, we multiply our impact.

3. Launching ĒMA’s Custom Program Software
In Summer 2025, we will officially roll out our custom-built program database. This innovative system will improve how we track impact, streamline casework, and deliver personalized care—equipping us to grow with excellence.

“It’s nice knowing they’re always there.”

“Some weeks I managed on my own, but other times, knowing ĒMA was there made a big difference,” she said. Even three years later, ĒMA continues to help with Christmas toys and ongoing support. “It’s nice knowing they’re always there.”
